There were about 10 pallets of toys going to more than 600 families in Wagga as part of The Smith Family's annual toy and book appeal.
Rebecca Chambers walked an hour from her home in Kooringal to the community centre to receive presents for her four children.
"I do it tough a lot of the time, but we get there," she said.
"We've got four sick children and they've all got something seriously wrong with them, so getting help like this means a great deal."
Ms Chambers' oldest child is nine years old, followed by children aged seven, six and four years old.
Her family signed up for the Learning for Life scholarship program at the beginning of 2018 and she said this is her second year that she has received help for Christmas.
"It takes a lot of the pressure off when you can get a little bit of help," she said.
Wagga's Smith Family partnerships coordinator Christine Dennis said it is a lot of hard work to get to this point, but it is rewarding for all involved.
"It's amazing the difference it makes to our families' lives as once they come onto our program, they know that we will cover Christmas for them," she said.
"It's one less thing they need to worry about.
"It's a massive whole-team effort across the nation, but it's wonderful."
The Smith Family's scholarship program works with families who are financially disadvantaged to provide some funding to assist with school and also programs that assist children in their education.
