Riverina Police District Acting Inspector, Sergeant Maggie Deall said a large amount of jewellery has been found.
"We wanted to talk to the public about some break-and-enters that have been occurring over in Coolamon," she said.
"Recently, we have experienced a spike in break-and-enters and there's been a significant amount of work done with respect to that.
"We have recovered a large amount of stolen property, which we believe is from those break-and-enters."
Sergeant Deall said police will be appealing to the community to have a look at the photos to see if they can identify some of the property.
"We certainly have identified an offender; we have reason to believe he's actually left the Coolamon area and we will be actively pursuing him," she said.
"We absolutely believe there is one particular person responsible for these offences.
"Jewellery is very sentimental and I have jewellery myself that I would hate to lose, so if we can return it to the owners than that really does make the job worthwhile."
Sergeant Deall said it is believed this crime does not link with previous break-and-enters in the Coolamon area.
"At this point there's nothing to indicate that it's linked to these events, unfortunately we do have these things come up from time to time," she said.
"The past incidents were dealt with us quite aggressively and there were people prosecuted in regard to those.
"This is a different set of circumstances."

Sergeant Deall said police are also investigating reports of stolen mail and the increase of fraud related crimes, which is something the police will keep on top of.
"We have had CCTV forwarded to us for investigation ... there are a number of offences that have been previously identified in committing these type of offences," she said.
"We don't think it's a widespread issue at this point, but we certainly are investigating and will prosecute.
"I would suggest that fraud is becoming more of a problem across the board ... things like tap and go with your cars, the internet and technology has sped up so fast that it does allow people to commit new and further offences."
