It was a family affair in the boys with the talented Mooney brothers, Nathanael and Jamie, taking out the Senior Sportsman and Junior Sportsman of the Year double.
Well-performed all-rounder Molly Devries was named Senior Sportswoman of the Year, while young gun Charlotte Priest won Junior Sportswoman of the Year.
It was the second straight year that Priest and Jamie Mooney had won both awards.
It was also a big night for Devries, who became the first student to receive the new Olympic Change-Maker Award.
It recognises and rewards students who demonstrate the Olympic spirit through leadership and driving positive change in their communities.
Mater Dei also presented 10 Blues awards, five bar awards and four outstanding achievement awards to students who represented the school at high levels during the year.
Mater Dei sports coordinator Nathan Irvine was proud of the college's efforts in another big sporting year.
"In 2019, 358 Mater Dei students represented the College 1187 times in more than 66 different teams," Irvine said.
"Once again this means that in addition to our own College carnivals, nearly half our student population took advantage of the opportunity to represent the College in sport and these students are to be congratulated on their efforts.
"This is no small matter when you consider the time and effort put in by staff and students in making this happen and is something I think we should be proud of as a College community."
Irvine highlighted Mater Dei's softball team winning the Katrina Powell Shield for the first time and the open girls AFL team that were crowned state champions as two of the more memorable performances of the year.
