On Sunday, Wagga Local Court refused bail for Jason Michael Day, who is charged with break and enter to destroy property worth more than $60,000.
The Tumut man, 50, has also been charged with possessing a knife in public, intentionally destroying property by fire and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
More from the courts
He also faces four counts of intimidating and one count of breaching an apprehended violence order.
Mr Day has not yet pleaded to the charges and is set to front court again on Wednesday.
A NSW Police statement on Saturday said that about 3pm on Friday, a fire broke out in the exchange in Tumut, causing "significant damage to communications infrastructure".
