The Bulls were bowled out for 223 on day one of the clash last week, but South Wagga were greeted with a much drier wicket when they resumed at 1-17 on Saturday.

Blake Harper was the only Blues batsmen to make it past 20, compiling 79 before being the last man out 70 runs short of the total set by the Bulls.

Blues stand-in captain, and president, Joel Robinson said shot selection went towards their low total.

However he was left disappointed by how different pitch conditions were.

"It was disappointing the conditions weren't the same both weeks when there was no reason for them not to be," Robinson said.

Rawlings Park is Lake Albert's home ground and president Simon Blacka hit back after questions over the conditions.

He remains pleased with the job Chris Smith is doing with the ground.

"I let Chris do his job, and I'm not a curator myself," Blacka said.

"I don't think the weather was that similar and you are not always going to get a exactly similar pitch.

"I don't think Chris would go out on his way to do anything wrong either."

Lake Albert hadn't won in their past four matches and are the only side Kooringal Colts have been able to get the better of.

On the other hand South Wagga were coming off an impressive win over Wagga City in the top-of-the-table clash when they declared at 2-287 at McPherson Oval.

Blacka is confident a new irrigation system will soon lessen the burden of curating the ground.

"The only reason it may not have been watered as much, and I'm only speculating here, is Chris may not have been as available to get down their as often as he would have liked," he said.

"That is going to be less of an issue coming up as in the next couple of weeks we are getting an irrigation system put in there.

"At the moment it is either being hand watered or a sprinkler is being left out there on the pitch itself and it is turned on and left on until he comes back to turn it off."

The system is being put in over Christmas.
