The Bulldogs were well on the way to their ... win of the season after a 81-run opening stand between Ethan Perry (63) and Marcus Sevior (32) chasing 170 for victory.
However as Mcgregor Hanigan took the first of his four wickets the pressure started to build.
Wagga RSL slipped to 5-114, before James Richards (45) and Sam Perry (11) steadied things with a 31-run partnership
But when Richards was judged leg before wicket to Hanigan Colts were right in the thick chasing back-to-back victories.
In the end, RSL just had enough to hold on for a one-wicket victory.
It was a tense ending with a hastily run single just enough to score what captain Sam Perry described as an important win.
"It got very close," Perry said. "A little single at the end probably should have been a run out by thankfully we got the win."
