Navori required surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament after picking up a problem in the clash with Western at Ron Crowe Oval in October.
New Cherrypickers coach Nick Hall expects their impressive recruit should be back midway through next year.
"It's just unfortunate as it's great to play a rep game as long as you don't get hurt," Hall said.
"That's the caveat and he got hurt so it is a bugger for us and for him.
"It depends on whether he's a quick healer but he should be back midway through the year."
The Fijian recruit was one of the real highlights for the club last season.
He was Young's leading tryscorer, crossing 13 times, and provided plenty of spark.
Young are yet to make a move over the Group Nine off-season.
Hall, who has replaced Roy Jewitt, doesn't expect too many changes from the side who finished ...... last season.
There are doubts over Blake Hewitt, after he travelled from Goulburn to play last year, and Hall is still on the lookout for more talent to complement their existing player stock.
"I'm pretty sure we will be pretty similar," Hall said.
"I'm still looking for one or two new faces and we will see if we can line them up.
"We haven't had any commitments at this stage."
If not Hall is confident in the club's depth.
The Cherrypickers secured back-to-back premierships in both the Sullivan and Weissel Cups this season and had their reserve grade side make it through to the grand final as well.
Young had their first training run on Tuesday and with around 30 attending from across all grades Hall was pleased with the early turnout.
