Canberra-based midfielders Sam Jensen and Kieran Shea have confirmed they won't be back for a fifth straight season at Nixon Park.
Kangaroos coach Jake Wooden paid tribute to the pair's commitment and contribution.
"Absolutely, they're great players and good blokes and they'll be missed. But we always knew this day would come," Wooden said.
"It's been a huge effort, they came out for a couple of years then added another one and another one. I'm sorry that they're gone and the biggest challenge now is we've got to replace them.
"They're really good footballers who played a big part in our on-ball brigade."
Jensen and Shea join Luke Gerhard (Coolamon) in exiting the Roos, along with ruckman Joe Tegart after half-a-season.
"We've talked to a lot of people and we've still got six or seven who are interested but it's that time of year where guys aren't focussed on footy. Some are busy with cricket. Hopefully in the new year we can have a few new signings," Wooden said.
The Kangaroos still have centre-half-back (and this year's best-and-fairest) Max Richardson and small forward Charlie Boyton travelling from Canberra and hope to retain the rest of their side, although talented forward Jacob Turner's plans are uncertain.
Shea may not be lost to the region, indicating he's keen to test himself in the Riverina League.
Jensen is returning to Canberra Demons where he intends to have another shot at playing North East Australian Football League (NEAFL).
"He thought he'd give it one more crack at that level. They've been at him for a couple of years to go back there," Wooden said.
"I hope he goes well. If he does a full pre-season and fully commits, I've got no doubt he'd play first grade."
It was four years ago that Jensen headlined a quartet of signings for Temora under then coach Christin Macri.
He won a club best-and-fairest in his first season, represented the Farrer League in 2017 and was best-on-ground in Temora's grand final loss later that year.
"He's been in our top the last three years so he's been super consistent. Even this year, he had a few more injuries but still finished in our top five," Wooden said.
Meanwhile, Temora continue to search for a president to replace Peter Gerhard, who stepped down after three years in the role but wasn't replaced at the AGM.
He believes the club is in good shape and it's simply a matter of time before the position is filled.
"We had another meeting but it's still harvest so it's hard to get everyone in," Gerhard said.
"We had a few there but not too many prospects for president just yet... We're pretty right (as a club). Someone will put their hand up. We've got all the other positions filled, it's just the presidency, so we're not too worried."
