Jake Dooley won't be back for a fourth season with Southcity.
Instead the fullback, who is renown for his ability to be in the right place at the right time near the try line, is looking to play outside the region.
Hometown club Parkes looms as the most obvious destination but Dooley hasn't locked in where he will play in 2020.
However the 26-year-old said he won't play against the Bulls next year.
"I won't be at Southcity and it just depends on work but I'll probably be heading back home or hopefully to the coast somewhere," Dooley said.
"I won't be in Group Nine next year."
Dooley was part of Southcity's premiership in 2017, in his first season after moving across from Kangaroos.
He has also played grand final losses with the Bulls in the past two seasons.
Dooley admitted it was a tough call to leave Southcity.
"It was huge and it's still tough to think about having to tell some of the boys that I won't be there," he said.
"They are some of my best mates but at the end of the day I've got to think about my future career wise and my best option going forward.
"It has nothing to do with footy, but work and life outside of footy.
"It was pretty tough telling Rosey (Nathan Rose) I wasn't going to be there but they will be fine.
"They have a good juniors coming through and I'm sure they will be up the top again next year."
The Spacemen are celebrating their 75th season and Dooley would play alongside brother if he was to head that way.
However with six months remaining on his current work contract he would travel from Wagga to play.
Dooley didn't think the timing was right to re-commit to the Bulls
"I had to make a decision and I couldn't commit to it at the moment," he said.
"I'm doing the best for both parties by making that tough decision."
It comes as Southcity secured the services of former Kangaroos prop Dana Ratu as they look to go one better after a 24-6 loss to Tumut in the grand final.
