After Saints moved around them and into second place on the ladder with an outright victory last week, their batting line up failed to really fire.
Stuart Slocombe made 60, Nick Fahey finished unbeaten on 54 while captain Beck Frostick made 22.
However they were the only Saints to reach double figures.
Cats captain Josh Thompson was pleased with the response.
"The St Micks boys put up a pretty good fight," Thompson said.
"The wicket was actually pretty good and I thought we bowled pretty well in partnership but lacked taking wickets through the middle there.
"We probably let ourselves down with fielding, I think we have a long way to go there, but we bowled pretty tight."
Max Harper led the way with three wickets while Jon Nicoll claimed two.
Wagga City resume at 0-3 after surviving two overs.
