The clash against Newcastle Knights in Wagga on April 18 will be the first Young is eligible for in the 2020 NRL season.
An eight-game ban for eye gouging ruled him out of Canberra's run to the NRL grand final and the 21-year-old is determined to win his way back into the team.
"I want to be available for this game and will be doing everything I can to come straight back into the team," Young said.
"But we all know that last year was a very successful year for the club and all the boys in the team
"It's not a team that is going to be easy to crack but I'm willing to put my front foot forward and work as hard as I can to get back into the team.
The Mailtand product was banned twice in his rookie season for eye gouging.
The first on Aiden Tolman earned five weeks on the sidelines before the even ban over an incident with Adam Pompey.
However Young is adamant he's learned this lesson this time around.
"Sitting there watching the grand final knowing I could have been apart of it is something that will drive you for the rest of your career," he said.
He's been working with Canberra's coaching staff to help correct that part of this game.
"I've been working on a few things off the field, getting get my head right and have been working on a few different things so hopefully in 2020 I can get back to playing my best footy and stay in the team," Young said.
The four-pointer in the big win over Penrith is the lone try Hudson scored last season.
He enjoyed the experience of playing to Wagga, including getting the chance to interact with Riverina youngsters in the lead up to the game, and can't wait to be part of another big game.
"It's something I'll never forget - scoring your first NRL trial - and funny enough it was here," he said.
"It is good to be back here."
Works continue to improve the ground with extra seating to be installed on the eastern hill and when combined with an extension to the southern hill to capacity will reach 12,000.
With a crowd of 10,079 in attendance last season, Wagga major Greg Conkey is already expecting a sell out.
"There has already been a lot of interest and a number of people have approached me as to when ticketsgo on sale," Conkey said.
General admission tickets go on sale on December 11.
This year they will be available to be purchased on Ticketek.
