Riverina scored a thrilling 6-5 win over Sydney West in the play-off for fifth at Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre on Thursday.
Riley Hogan launched a goal with 10 seconds remaining to clinch the victory for Riverina.
Sydney East took out the final with a commanding 10-1 win over Sydney North.
Sydney East finished the four-day championships having scored 108 goals and conceded just 20.
Riverina coach Samantha O'Connell was rapt to finish the championships with a win.
"It was a pretty challenging game but it was great to have a close game to finish," O'Connell said.
"We had a really successful four days."
Riverina won the shield for the most improved team at the championships.
Albury pair Sally Lefoe and Chelsea Isaac were Riverina's best performed players over the four days.
Isaac, a year seven student, was named reserve for the NSW CHS state team.
