The biggest match of the season will not be played at the city's premier ground for the first time in seven seasons with Robertson Oval off limits due to the upcoming AFL pre-season fixture.
With Greater Western Sydney and Richmond facing off on March 8, plus a AFLW clash between the two clubs the day before, no cricket will be played on the ground after January 20.
Wagga operations manager Paul McKelvie said there was no option but to move on a raft of fixtures.
"It is about preparation for that game," McKelvie said.
"We had good meetings with council are there are no problems from our end now.
"We have to deal with it and move on."
The last time a Wagga Cricket grand final wasn't played at Robertson Oval was when the ground was being redeveloped in the 2012-13 season.
McPherson Oval looms as the most likely venue to host the grand final on March 14 and 15.
Wagga Cricket Ground hosted two straight grand finals with Robertson Oval out of action, and it remains an option, with the clubs to have the final say in the new year.
It has meant there will be a reshuffle of the draw with the floating round of Twenty20s have now been confirmed.
Wagga RSL will play Kooringal Colts on January 13, Lake Albert faces South Wagga the following day before Kooringal Colts and St Michaels clash on January 20.
All will be at Robertson Oval with 6.30pm starts.
The Colts and Saints will play in the last match on Robertson Oval for the season.
It will allow for over six weeks of preparation leading into the grand final rematch.
The last time Wagga hosted a AFL pre-season fixture in 2016, cricket was unable to be played on the grand in the two weeks leading into the clash between Collingwood and North Melbourne but the preliminary final and grand final were played at Robertson Oval over the following fortnight.
McKelvie also confirmed dates for the new-look O'Farrell Cup.
Cricket Albury-Wodonga (CAW) Holbrook plays CAW District on Sunday with the winner to tackle Wagga at Robertson Oval on December 8 for a place in the February final.
With Griffith withdrawing from the competition, the final will be hosted by CAW Provincial in February.
