It was a day for the visitors at Murrumbidgee Turf Club and few were more impressive than Supreme Polarity ($2.50) for Olive and Jerilderie apprentice Tyler Schiller.
Supreme Polarity went straight to the front and ran his rivals ragged to score by 4 lengths in the Price Plumbing Specialists Benchmark 66 Handicap (1600m).
Olive confirmed the six-year-old will head towards the $32,000 Ted Ryder Cup (1600m) on December 24.
"I think we'll come back for the Ted Ryder," Olive said.
"It's the logical step for him. He's run two good races here now so we'll bring him back for that."
Formerly with the Phil Stokes stable in Adelaide, Supreme Polarity has won three of his 12 starts since joining the Olive team.
He won two in succession to begin with and also ran third behind Noble Boy in this year's SERA heat of the Country Championships (1400m) at Goulburn.
Olive praised Schiller for his efforts on his first ride of the horse.
"He rode him perfect," he said.
"He let him roll and be comfortable in his own rhythm. He doesn't have a great sprint so when he was that far in front when they straightened I thought he would be hard to run down from here."
The Geoff Duryea-trained Dottledo battled on for second, while Trying hit the line well a further four lengths back in third place.
More money flowed back to the nation's capital after the win of Kopaonik ($4.40) in the Kristopher Graydon Jewellers Fillies & Mares Benchmark 58 Handicap (1000m).
The Mick Miladinovic-trained mare was crunched from $26 in betting, as the favourite, Flying Yankee, drifted noticeably and finished fifth after leading.
Kopanoik settled at the rear of the field and produced a barnstorming finish to score by two lengths.
Leading Southern District jockey Blaike McDougall piloted the mare to victory and was full of praise for the performance.
"She won with a bit of authority in the end," McDougall said.
"She made a mess of her rivals."
The win of Supreme Polarity and Kopaonik were just two of five wins for either Canberra or Goulburn trainers at Wagga on Monday.
Leeton trainer Peter Clancy led the fightback for the Southern District with Crimson Hoffa ($2.80) breaking through for a well-deserved win in the MTC Xmas Party Day Nov 30 Maiden Handicap (1400m).
After three placings to kick off this preparation, Crimson Hoffa edged out Nat Shrap ($41) after a gruelling battle down the straight.
