After making the move to Canberra this season following a year in Sydney grade cricket, Staines will represent ACT/NSW Country in the titles in Perth next month.
Staines has scored 246 runs at an average of 49.20 for Western Districts this season, including half centuries in his last two innings.
It leaves him one run out of the competition's top 10 runscorers.
The wicketkeeper also has 15 catches and four stumpings to his credit.
Hay's Rupert Lilburne, who made his first grade debut for Eastern Suburbs last season, has also been selected in the side for the tournament from December 2-12.
Both have previous experience at national championships.
