Track repairs are expected to be completed by the weekend to fix the issues with the new venue when it rained.
Drivers and trainers reported the clay content was too high and coming to the surface in the event of minimal rain, creating a greasy track.
A three-and-half-week break before the Friday December 6 meeting opened a window for repairs.
"I'm more than confident but then again, we were more than confident in what we had there - the track's a very good track and and it was proven with the times they were running on the surface that was there," Dumesny said.
"The problem was that it wasn't handling certain weather conditions - wet - as we would prefer.
"We're confident. The contractor, Ladex, have been very good to work with... this is just a little bump in the road. So we do the work and we'll see how it performs in rain events.
"I'm sure it will rain again. We're not praying for it not to rain, put it that way."
December is a big month for the Wagga Harness Racing Club with December 6 followed by the club's Christmas Party meeting on Saturday December 14.
In between, the club will hold a reconvened annual general meeting on December 11 after this week's AGM was short of voting members.
"It's disappointing more than a concern," Dumesny said. "They're a strong club for members but didn't get a quorum (of 25). The committee and Graeme (White) have been able to generate all this new membership from the big investment to move to the new property... I'm sure they'll rattle up the numbers for the next one."
