The Bulldogs have already lost first innings points at Wagga Cricket Ground after being bundled out for 109. St Michaels are already 2-123 from 30 overs with in-form skipper Beck Frostick unbeaten on 58.
The Saints will push for an outright victory on Saturday
"We're definitely playing for pride," Perry said.
"A lot of people would see it as we're playing for nothing but from our perspective, if we get another crack at batting, which I think we will, it's time to right some wrongs.
"To make 109 last week isn't really acceptable. So if we do get the chance we want to bat a lot of overs, pretty much bat the day out.
"We can't win the game but we can improve for the following week."
St Michaels, with a lead of 14, have a decision to make about how long they bat for.
Perry expects Wagga RSL will get a second chance with the bat sooner rather than later on Saturday.
