The Rural Fire Service is warning people that smoke from raging bushfires up north is clouding skies in the Riverina.

In an online statement, the RFS Riverina Zone said heavy smoke is again affecting large parts of NSW including the Riverina.
"This smoke is being blown in from large fires in the north coast and Hawkesbury areas," it said,
"This smoke may continue for several days.
"Please don't call Triple Zero just to report smoke. Save it for emergencies."
Thursday's predicted scorching termperatures could come close to breaking a Wagga record, with firefighters reminding residents there will be a total fire ban.
The city is heading for a top of 41 degrees, according to the Bureau of Meteorology, about 15 degrees above the long-term average maximum for Wagga of 25.9.
Wagga's record November maximum of 42.8 degrees was set on November 26, 1997.
