WAGGA hockey star Dylan Martin has helped NSW Pride cap a dominant inaugural Hockey One campaign in style with a dominant 8-3 win over Brisbane Blaze at Melbourne's State Netball and Hockey Centre on Saturday.

The Pride, who went through the regular season unbeaten, took the initiative immediately through an early hat-trick from Tim Brand before scoring five times in the last term to secure the trophy.
"They are a bunch of talented guys. I think what it showed is what happens when they pull together as a team and know what it takes to work for each other rather than a bunch of individuals," Pride coach Brent Livermore told the Hockey One website.

"We had a game plan that we worked with throughout the eight weeks and for the players to execute it and realise the importance of playing for their teammates was amazing.
"Their (Brisbane Blaze's) radar was off a few times and our defence stood strong like it has for the whole campaign."
The competition was introduced this year in place of the Australian Hockey League, allowing teams to play weekly matches instead of the previous format which was completed across a few days.
