He said the presence of the Kapooka Army Band inspires the students to rise to the occasion.
"They get the opportunity to play with amazing, professional musicians and get that experience of sounding really good together," he said.
"Student's can see what's possible and they strive to attain that even more, but we also see that in the lead up to the event a lot of the kids get involved in music ... and excel themselves."
Wagga Christian College year 10 student Joseph Skewes is among one of the many to join the Kapooka Army Band on stage.
Joseph said he expects the performance will be a great learning experience for everyone involved.
"We are playing a variety of genres from pop to orchestral. We swap around the instruments so different people are playing different instruments throughout the show," he said.
"We learn a fair bit from the army band. They give us advice and give us tips on reading sheet music."
