FIRE crews responded to a grass fire that broke out in Glenfield Park overnight.

Fire and Rescue were called out to the scene at 8.30pm where the crew located the fire burning in the vicinity of the railway line on Mima Street.
A Turvey Park Fire Station spokesman said firefighters swiftly brought the fire under control within 10 minutes upon arrival.
The cause of the fire is unknown however, the spokesman said there was no damage to property or the nearby rail line.

The mercury is set to reach the mid-30s by Tuesday, before pushing towards 40 degrees on Thursday.
Temperatures are predicted to drop into the weekend however, they will still remain in the 30s.
