Group Nine clubs have ushered in a 16-round competition despite last season's home and away draw being a financial success.

After much debate a full 18-round competition was played last season, however it was cut back after the annual general meeting on Sunday.
Temora and Gundagai voted for a season of just 14 rounds, but the majority of clubs were in favour of reducing the season to 16 rounds.
A split round bye will also be re-introduced.
The season length was a major concern for clubs.
Group Nine chairman Peter McDermott isn't entirely in favour of the move.

"The clubs voted for it but it might be interesting when the draw comes out and some of those clubs who voted yes might have to play the top five teams twice," McDermott said.
It comes as the new-look Group Nine executive revealed a $54,414 turnaround from last season.
The 2019 season was run at a profit of $40,974, after a $13,440 loss in 2018.
The return to the traditional five-team format, which included a record grand final crowd, is the biggest change.
Group Nine gate takings increased by 57 per cent to $88,770, with warmer weather from the later date of the grand final largely attributed for the increase.
"It's a huge financial turnaround from last season," McDermott said. "Obviously gates helped us with record crowds at most of the finals and the weather helped.
"Going back to Sunday, with a top five and the two extra games really helped."
After the new-look board was ushered in dramatic circumstances last year, there is currently only four men on the board.
McDermott and vice chairman Ian Close have retained their roles.
Kathy Tuckwell and Aaron Byrne did not stand for re-election and no other nominations were received.
McDermott isn't concerned by the low number but admitted they are still working on having each town in the competition represented.
"I've spoke to clubs and they are looking for people now," he said.
"We want the right fit with people who are open-minded and want to work with the group."
The new Group Nine season will start on April 19, the same weekend as Canberra hosts Newcastle at Equex Centre, with the grand final on September 13.
