And the experienced duo have got the band back together in an effort to help Wagga City Wanderers pursue their goal of a top two finish in next year's National Premier League Two.
Pideski, 36, will provide valuable experience to a Wanderers outfit which could have used a for more old heads in their debut Canberra campaign.
Menser came on board as a playing assistant a few weeks ago and Pideski was keen to reunite again with his old Henwood Park teammate after taking last year off.
"I like the Canberra league and have a lot of great memories," Pideski said.
"My plan is to get back into some really good nick and start. That's obviously up to the coaching staff, but I want to do it properly and have a red hot crack.
"I was pretty flat out with work last year, but now some things are out of the way I'm keen for one last crack."
Pideski plays mainly midfield but can also pinch hit down the left flank or up front if required.
He believes the nucleus of young talent is there for the Wanderers, who weren't far off making finals this year, to take the next step.
The Wanderers held the first of two trial days on Saturday as they look to finetune their squad.
"At that training run those young players didn't look out of place at all. Everyone will be fighting for places which will drive people to be better," Pideski said.
"Babs (new coach Michael Babic) said after the training session his goal is to finish top two, that's where the bar's going to be set and if we don't achieve that we'll be a bit disappointed.
"It's good he's set the precedent to start with and it's not unrealistic, but it's going to take a lot of work."
Menser said Pideski will be another valuable sounding board for the young players after the club took out the under-18 and under-20 titles this year.
"He brings a lot of experience and leadership qualities and he's played in Canberra before. He adds a lot to the squad and will help the younger guys," Menser said.
