Clear The Beach ($2.80) enjoyed the biggest win of the day as he dashed away to win by 3 lengths in the $50,000 Martin Hay Earthmoving Snake Gully Flying Handicap (1000m).
It was McFarlane's first visit to Gundagai and it's likely he will be back for more as Clear The Beach made light work of his rivals to claim the feature sprint.
"We targeted this race a while ago," McFarlane revealed.
"We brought him back, treated last week as a trial, we got the win and he trimmed up a bit. I knew he'd improve to this race and I thought he'd be hard to beat.
"I thought the track would suit him. He's that up and on speed runner and he's strong so I thought they would struggle to get him."
Mathew Cahill rode the horse to victory.
Canberra pair Eve's Miss ($5.00) and Mixed Blossom ($10.00) filled the minor placings.
