In an online statement, the Riverina Zone said in the past 36 hours crews have attended two incidents, one in Ganmain and one in Lockhart.
"On late Tuesday night, [there was] a hay shed fire and early Thursday morning [there was] a haystack fire," it read.
"These two fires have resulted in expensive losses for both farmers.
"In both instances, farmers have followed all the recommended guidelines, unfortunately, the conditions contributing towards these fires are beyond normal."
The Riverina Zone said this season is unprecedented in the volume of crops that have been cut for fodder.
"If you have hay on your property please remember to check them regularly for signs of fire," it read.
