But the association would require at least one more court in order to apply for Netball NSW's blue ribbon competitions.
It was announced late last week the Masters State Titles and Netball NSW Social Masters will be held in Wagga next year on October 17 and 18.
It's the first state titles of any description given to the city, with the three-court multi-purpose stadium which began operation this year the main selling point.
"It's a massive event for us. They're moving a lot of the championships over the next few years to regional centres," WWNI president Rosemary Clarke said.
"I've got fingers crossed if the masters goes OK, it will give us a chance to reapply for it.
"This is a big win for us, we're a big country association but not like Newcastle or Illawarra."
The association also has 17 outdoor courts, but requires 21 to host the biggest state championships. A fourth indoor court would be needed to attract the Academy Games.
"It (facilities) are a court short if we wanted to host the bigger state championships like the 17s or opens for example, but for Masters and the way they work we fit perfectly into that niche," Clarke said.
"It (extra indoor court) would be a plus for Academy Games, it requires four courts indoors and it would be a major coup to get that.
"It would be ideal to have something like a division three and four 12s, 13s and 14s, but we'd have to have 21 courts for that and at the moment we're sitting on 20.
"That one court can make a big difference on what happens."
Clarke said the WWNI will submit suggestions to name the stadium after council agreed for negotiations to start this week.
"Historically there will be something we have to be aware of and push forward," she said.
