Tully Toff will contest the $75,000 TAB Highway Class Three Handicap (1300m) on the inaugural The Hunter raceday at Newcastle.
Colvin also had Tully Toff in at Gundagai but decided on Newcastle after coming up with barrier 14 in a hot Class Three Showcase (1180m) on Friday.
"The draw made my mind up," Colvin said.
"He drew bad in a strong race at Gundagai so I'm going to take him up to Newcastle and have a crack at it."
Tully Toff has raced well without luck at his last two starts. Apprentice jockey Blake Ryan, with his three kilogram claim, will take the ride at Newcastle from barrier four.
That will be Tully Toff's 20th career start so Colvin plans to turn him out after Saturday and bring him back for another crack at the Country Championships.

WAGGA trainer Trevor Sutherland is keen for another crack at a Highway Handicap with Two Wrongs Dont.
The four-year-old flew home down the outside to finish an unlucky second in the $75,000 TAB Highway Class Three Handicap (1500m) at Rosehill last Saturday.
Delighted with the run, Sutherland plans to start Two Wrongs Dont in the Highway Class Three Handicap (1600m) at Kembla Grange on Saturday week.

GUNDAGAI'S Billy Owen will miss Snake Gully Cup day on Friday after making the move to Sydney.
Owen finished up with Canberra trainer Nick Olive last week after more than 10 years with the stable.
He has joined the John O'Shea stable where he hopes to finish his apprenticeship. Instead of Gundagai, Owen has a ride at Canterbury on Friday night.

WAGGA trainer Scott Spackman could have as many as five horses in next year's heat of the Country Championships at Albury.
Takissacod is the latest of Spackman's stable to put her hand up for a tilt at the Country Championships. She won three straight races this preparation and was then a luckless third in Saturday's Highway Handicap (1500m) at Rosehill.
Spackman sent Takissacod straight to the paddock after the run.
"We'll sit down and map out where she goes," Spackman said.
"She did a hell of a job this campaign in what was her first real campaign. We're in two minds as to what to do. She's only a three-year-old so you've got the potential there to go towards the Albury and Wagga Guineas.
"Then you could have a throw at the stumps at the Championships as well."
Spackman already has Jaytee's The Fox, Blazen Diamond, Gotta Want It and potentially Tocatchacod headed towards the Championships.

GARY Colvin will aim at some late season two-year-old races with Eastern Wind after sending him to the paddock over the weekend.
Eastern Wind ran 10th, beaten five lengths, behind Hard Landing in the $200,000 group three Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) at Flemington last Thursday.
Ridden by Damien Oliver, Eastern Wind was the subject of strong support and was TAB's market mover after being backed from $81 into $23.
But the Wagga two-year-old was never comfortable on the track and pulled up shin sore. Colvin said Eastern Wind will have a good spell and return late in the season.

ALBURY trainer Ron Stubbs will tackle Sunday's $70,000 Donald Cup (1620m) with Spunlago.
Stubbs opted against a start in the Snake Gully Cup at Gundagai on Friday after his city winner came up with 61.5kg.
He also decided against a start at Sandown on Saturday in favour of Donald, where he has 60kg.
Canberra trainer Keith Dryden also decided against a Snake Gully Cup start with Kosciuszko winner Handle The Truth after being given 63.5kg.
Handle The Truth will go to the listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on November 30.
