Two-time club champion and hat-trick hopeful, Bart Carroll, knows a rain-reduced event at the Wagga Country Club isn't going to make his bid any easier.

With last week's second round abandoned, the club championships resume resume today with Carroll one of five players tied for the lead with two rounds to play.
Former winner Henry Brind, three-time runner-up Luke Chisholm, Scott Blandford and Darron Watt also had opening rounds of 73, while Carroll was one-under through 11 on Sunday before lightning ended the day and changed the championship.
"I'm feeling pretty good, I know I was playing well. But I'd rather it be 72 holes than 54 holes," Carroll said.
"There's not that four rounds to stretch your lead so it allows more people to come closer. And it's a very congested leaderboard.
"Henry's won it twice. Luke has been second in the last three so he's a very good player too. Scotty Blandford's a very consistent player and Darren Watt, he's had a break from golf but he's timing it really well."
The rain's been good for the course and more on Friday might slow the greens but Carroll said softer fairways will rule out the option of going low and letting it run in a bid to beat the wind.
"I really think it's going to be an all-round mental battle," Carroll said. "It's going to be windy so whoever wins is going to have to have two very good rounds."
He rates multiple winner Jarrod Meacham (four shots back) another big danger while Kurt Pideski (five shots off the pace) was looking ominous with an even-par 72 last Sunday before the round was abandoned.
