TRAC ended Mater Dei's three-year reign in the high school tennis competition last year, with Leon Hemmings at the helm, but they couldn't quite back it up without him this year at Jim Elphick Tennis Centre.
Instead it was Mater Dei who recovered from a poor start in the singles to take the title.
Two convincing wins in the mixed doubles sealed the tight result.
Mater Dei finished on 124 games, just ahead of TRAC's 120.
Wagga High School finished third with 61 games with Wagga Christian College fourth on 31 points.
Mater Dei went through the round robin event undefeated with coach Janelle Baggio impressed with the tennis on display, especially up against TRAC.
"There were many long rallies and both teams demonstrated some sound tennis skills," Baggio said.
One of the highlights was a strong display from Sabrina Donebus.
She won all of her matches and importantly teamed with Josh Myers to record an impressive 8-0 win in the mixed doubles against Wagga High.
