Coolamon Cheese Factory was among the winners at the annual World Cheese Awards held in Italy on October 18.
The three-year-old business was awarded bronze for its "de brie" cheese.
General manager Keiran Spencer said the company's own version of the brie-style cheese has always been a big hit within the local and wider community.
"I wanted to take the business to the next level and these awards were part of that plan," Mr Spencer said.
" ... I wanted to know if we could go head-to-head with the best artisan producers in the world.
"Given that we were up against the world's best, we're of course over the moon with the result."
More than 40 countries competed for the world's best cheese title with a 10 per cent rise in entries this year compared to 2018.
Cheeses were assessed on their aroma, appearance, texture and flavour.
