Pedestrians and road users are all too familiar with the issues of Bourke Street from its pedestrian crossings, school zones, inadequate street lights and trees obstructing the view of drivers.
Cr Dan Hayes intends to move a motion at Monday night's meeting in the hope of minimising the dangers of this major thoroughfare.
"Over the years people have raised individual issues in regards to Bourke Street," he said.
"We should be tying (these concerns) together rather than the whack-a-mole approach we are currently taking. Let's look at it as a whole road, particularly from Red Hill Road to Fernleigh Road."

The holistic approach that Cr Hayes is advocating for has been already been successfully applied on Lake Albert Road outside Kooringal Mall and within the school zones.
He said the council should look to replicate this positive outcome on Bourke Street.
The safety of Bourke Street has been a hot topic for many year - and most recently, an incident in May where a 23-year-old was hit by car had several residents coming forward with their own near miss experiences.
"We need to piece together the projects that are already happening such as improving the pedestrian crossing lights, but there are issues about where the crossings are located in regards to access for school students, the amount of lanes to cross and the school zones going from 40, to 60 and back to 40, as well as, the line of sight for drivers with trees blocking the view at crossings," Cr Hayes said.

He said the unique challenge of Bourke Street will be the lack of development in the area.
"When a development happens the developer pays fees to the council to help with the infrastructure in the area ... but the development is happening on the other side of Red Hill Road, so Bourke Street acts as a main thoroughfare and traffic is increasing," he said.
Councillors will discuss the call for a review at Monday night's meeting.
