By 4pm on Monday, the mercury had reached 28 degrees, a full degree higher than the predicted maximum of 27.
Tuesday's predicted top temperature in Wagga is 30 degrees, with an even higher 32 expected on Wednesday, but by Thursday, the city is expected to reach a sweaty top of 35 degrees.
Friday's likely top of 32 degrees comes with the slight chance of a few millimetres of rain, along with the likelihood of a much cooler weekend.
Saturday's predicted top is just 20 degrees, with 22 expected on Sunday.
Nigel Smedley from the Bureau of Meteorology at Wagga said the long-term average maximum temperature was 21 degrees, much milder than some of the temperatures expected this week.
