The Olympic Highway has reopened, drivers are asked to exercise caution and allow extra travel time.
EARLIER:
The Olympic Highway is closed in both directions as emergency services clear the road after a truck caught alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW Inspector Daryl Manson said crews were called out at 12.45pm on Monday.
"On arrival, we were faced with a semi-trailer carrying foodstuffs well alight," he said.
"The front cab and front part of the trailer are severely damaged.
"It was a refrigerated trailer, and the fire appears to have started somewhere near the aircon unit.
"It's virtually extinguished, and we are cleaning up now."
Inspector Manson said four FRNSW trucks and four Rural Fire Service appliances were on scene.
"Both services worked together to put the fire out," he said.
