Turning out in front of the Tradelink store on Chaston Street, 20 protesters held signs and pickets calling on the company's parent, Fletcher Building, to abandon negotiations with the controversial Carmichael coal mine.
Organisers say they had not intended to cause disruption to Saturday morning shoppers.
"We've got no future plans to protest Tradelink, but that will depend on their head office's negotiations with Adani," said Neil Harris, member of the Stop Adani Wagga group.
"They had a security guard outside the door. We spoke to him and other interested people and handed them information about why we were protesting."
The local demonstration was part of a nation-wide demonstration against the mine's establishment, and the involvement of various domestic companies.
The Australian office of Tradelink was contacted for comment, but had not responded at the time of publication.
