Close to 500 tickets have already been sold and Wagga City Council expect that to accelerate in the days leading up to the clash.
"Potentially we'd like to get a couple of thousand which would be really positive for the first time, then build upon it year to year," Wagga City Council strategic asset planner Ben Creighton said.
Sydney FC and the Jets have agreed to play W-League and A-League trials at Wagga and Dubbo, which will alternate each year.
Around 3800 fans packed Dubbo's Apex Park to watch the A-League trial between the two clubs last month.
Local soccer fan Suzie Neilsen won a competition to toss the coin.
"I'm pretty excited to be a part of something that's a first for Wagga," she said.
"Sydney won it (W-League) last year so it's pretty good to get that calibre of team coming here."
