Police are warning parents and drivers following a spate of incidents with rocks being thrown at cars.

In an online statement, the Riverina Police District revealed that officers have responded to incidents of children throwing rocks at cars on Red Hill Road in the vicinity of Lloyd and Glenfield Park.
"These actions can have catastrophic consequences," they said.
"Police advise parents to warn their children about the consequences of throwing rocks at cars and the penalties it carries.

"Drivers should report any such behaviour to police."
Residents are reminded that in the event of an emergency contact '000'.
Incidents which are not associated with an emergency can be reported to local police or information can be passed on to Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000 or online at the NSW Police Force website.
