Haley Tait and Leisa Pearce will be kicking off their market free of single-use plastics in November.
"Rewild means to go back to a natural state, and basically that is what we want to do with our community and with our earth," Ms Pearce said.
"Financially, it is not viable for all businesses to cut it out ... lids are one that market stalls cannot avoid.
"We are not going to completely cut out plastic because then some of our stallholders would not be able to that and we would like to keep our local businesses viable."
The duo has been passionate about living sustainably and decided to combine their ethos with their love for markets.
"We do not want goods that are wrapped in plastic, and we are encouraging customers to bring their own cups and bags," Ms Tait said.
"We have been working on it for the better part of this year, and we have gotten stuck into it for the last couple of months.
"Hopefully, as more people are demanding a more sustainable product, then it will become more viable for those businesses to move to those products."
Close to the Visitor Information Centre, with the river beside it, seemed like the perfect spot for the new markets.
"We had to wait because they are doing levee bank work, and we did not want to start and then have to move," Ms Tait said.

"We have about 50 stallholders, but we would like more.
"I hope this is a form of education that is not in your face [because] we can raise awareness with vendors that there are other packaging opportunities out there."
The first Rewild Community Market is set to happen on November 16, from 9am. The event will run on the third Saturday of every month.
