Fastestgirlintown was sent out a $34 outsider in Friday's Heat over 1740 metres at Riverina Paceway, but found a perfect spot on the inside behind leader Play Up A Storm to win by 2.4 metres from fellow roughie Penny Writer ($23).
The first two horses have now qualified for the final and 20-year-old Turton, who also owns the mare, was always confident she could bounce back after having no luck when fifth at Temora on Saturday.
"She cracked a win two starts back at Young but start she was a bit unlucky," Turton said.
"It was perfect position for me just behind the leader with the cutaway rail here at Wagga.
"It's exciting of course (to have a runner in the final), hopefully she goes alright and is competitive.
"Before her win two starts ago I was a bit worried she wasn't going to get there because you put so much work into them.
"This series suited her a bit better because trainers who have more than 15 winners couldn't enter. At Sydney we'll see where she draws, see what the field's like and have a crack."
In Friday's Menangle Country Series Heat raging favourite Abitmorebliss ($1.45) won easily for trainer Ellen Bartley, 7.4 metres ahead of Saul Duck runner Rockita ($23).
Meanwhile She's Undeniable ($6.50) registered back-to-back victories after proving far too strong in the Racing NSW Rewards Series Final (1740m).
Starting from the second line the mare, who delivered Matt Harrington his first career training win at Temora last weekend, settled well four-out and one back before outpacing Power Pass ($7) and Light Up Billy ($6) to win the $10,600 decider by an eight metre margin.
Harrington's girlfriend Georgia Sutherland has driven She's Undeniable in both wins since her recent return from a one year sabbatical.
"She's pretty happy to settle anywhere and when I pulled her out she gave them more than a good run for her money," Sutherland said.
"We even had a little bit left in the tank, which is good.
The mare has proven she can win a variety of ways after hanging tough outside the leader for the trip at Temora before proving too strong.
"From the 11 we had to go back a bit and wait patiently. She's a multi tasker," Sutherland said.
"She'll keep going through her grades and the more she races the better she's going."
"The series gives the battlers a go and a confidence boost, it's a really good idea for the horses who find hard in the tougher grades."
