Absolum will return to Crossroads Oval after six seasons at East Wagga-Kooringal, while Mortimer was lured back after having this season off.
Mortimer captained Farrer League club North Wagga in 2018 and was considering a switch back to rugby league next year before the Demons swooped.
The two signings are a brilliant start to new coach Brett Sommerville's tenure with Collingullie-GP determined to climb back up the Riverina League ladder after missing finals this season for the first time in 19 years.
"I'm really happy to get them across the line," Sommerville said.
"They are two of our local boys, which is always a positive, so I couldn't be happier with them signing on.
"I think Ben has had a lot of experience through the midfield in the last couple of years so he'll probably spend some time in there and we'll use his experience across half-back as well. Ned will probably be a swingman. He'll spend time locking down down back and also spend time forward and in the midfield as well."
After six years back at his junior club at EWK, where he has been captain, Absolum, 30, said it was an extremely difficult decision to leave.
"Yeah it was a massive call. I've been here at East Wagga for a fair few years now and with my old man (Steve) being president there too," Absolum said.
"But a few of my good mates all wanted to play together again and it just happened that next year is the time that it was going to happen. It worked out with Ned going back and a few other mates playing so it will be nice to play again with all the boys that started out.
"It's probably time for East Wagga to have a new face as captain as well."
Mortimer, 29, expects his body to be right after a knee injury was part of the reason he sat this year out.
"I'm pretty confident I'll be right to go again, having the year off helped," Mortimer said.
"The biggest thing behind it was a few mates were keen to have the year together and I didn't want to miss out."
There will be no shortage of leadership at Collingullie-GP with Absolum and Mortimer both captaining their former clubs.
