Wagga trainer Chris Heywood purchased the mare from Leeton horseman Peter Clancy and will start Sister Hazel first-up in the third edition of The Hotham, a race designed for the battlers.
The race is for maiden gallopers with the most starts and Sister Hazel is well qualified with 45 starts for 17 placings.
Heywood is looking forward to the trip south after purchasing the mare specifically for the race.
"Scotty (Sanbrook) instigated it and we've just followed through with it," Heywood said.
"She's been set for it. We're pretty keen. She looks magnificent and how often do you get to race for $75,000? We're looking forward to going down there."
Linda Meech has been booked to ride Sister Hazel, who will start from barrier nine in the 14-horse field.
The first mare across the line also wins a free service to Melbourne Cup winner Americain.
