The photo, which bears the captions 'This is Wagga' and 'Midday adventures', appears to have been taken at an intersection with Best Street, possibly at Edward Street turning north off the Sturt Highway.

NSW Police Force Traffic and Highway Patrol Command posted the image of the Wagga utility vehicle on its Facebook page on Saturday evening with the comment 'loadfail'.

A NSW Police spokesman told The Daily Advertiser that an "investigations are continuing" after the photo was sent to police.

Police believe the vehicle in the picture was rented from the hardware chain Bunnings.
