Year 12 students all over the city bid farewell to the confines of school uniforms and classrooms this week.
To celebrate the momentous occasion, students at the Wagga Christian College began the day with a breakfast at the Botanical Gardens, courtesy of their teachers.
Following their leaving ceremony, the class took part in the annual Crazy Games Contest against their year 11 counterparts.
"It's all sorts of things, an obstacle course, a 10-man pyramid challenge, and usually a food challenge which is pretty gross and something to avoid if I can," said year 12 student Leah Hector, who was suitably confident of her year group's sporting superiority across the board.
Their matriculation now underway, there remains only one more hurdle to complete on their way out of the school yard forever, and that comes in the form of the HSC exams beginning in the next month.
Having worked their way to this point over the better part of two decades now, it is a surreal feeling to now arrive at the pinnacle.
"After the trials finished, I starting counting down the days, and now it's here. There's nothing else to do, just that," Calvin Combs said.
"I have an exam on the first day and on the last day, which is good and bad. It means I have a lot of time to study but there's also the potential to exhaust myself. I know some people who finish in October and I won't be done until mid-November."
