The owner of Lake Village Butchery has joined the hysteria in Canberra as the Raiders prepare for tonight's preliminary final against Souths by selling green sausages - and he can't keep up with demand.
"A couple of customers asked if we're going to do it too, we put it on Facebook and it's gone mad," Trinder said.
"We've already sold out 100 kilos worth, so we're rushing around Wagga trying to find food dye.
"It's been a long time between drinks for the Raiders. I knew it would be popular, but not this popular."
Trinder was 14 when the Raiders last played in a grand final in 1994, when they thrashed Canterbury to seal the club's third premiership.
They haven't featured on rugby league's biggest day since, and Trinder hopes the drought ends on Friday night when Canberra hosts a preliminary final for the first time.
The Raiders beat Penrith 30-12 in the round seven clash at Wagga this year, and will return to the city for another game next season.
"As you get older you realise these things are pretty special, they don't have every second year and you have to make the most of it,:" he said.
"I've got a Canberra Raiders fire bucket (for the game), the shed will be decked out and of course there'll be some green sausages."
