1. Let the children roam free
Spring Jam is on Saturday, September 28, at the Botanic Gardens from 10am to 4pm.
Kids will be able to lose themselves in the fun and excitement of Spring Jam. It is the children's festival that combines, adventure play, interactive fun, live entertainment, safaris, treats and more. Pack a picnic or grab snacks down the food alley. Entry is free. Well-known Australian festival favourites Bunny Racket, The Cope Street Parade and the Dancing Accounting will liven the crowd with high-energy performances. The Creative Space will give kids a chance to make fun and messy seed balls or artworks. Enjoy the outdoors in the Adventure Zone, with an eight-metre-high rock-climbing wall and get active with the In-Motion-Fitness obstacle course.
2. Head to the Markets
Markets by the Lake are on Saturday, September 28 from 9am to 1pm at Apex Park.
Enjoy a day out at the markets with arts, crafts, local produce, children's activities, entertainment, food and drink and much more all on the shores of beautiful Lake Albert. Can Assist will be out on the day with a food stall, all funds raised will go towards local causes.
3. Get jogging this weekend
Saturdays from 8am to 11am starting at Apex Park, Lake Albert.
Wagga Parkrun is a free, weekly, timed five-kilometre run or walk that takes place at hundreds of locations across Australia. No matter your age or fitness level, Parkrun is for everyone, so get your runners ready.
4. Explore the Produce Market
The Mates Gully Produce Market in Morrow Street is on Saturday from 9.30am to 12pm.
Fancy eating fresh produce that is grown in the fertile Riverina soil just half an hour from Wagga? Their produce is grown at their farm just half an hour east of Wagga, picked fresh daily and onto your plate the next morning. All food is picked fresh daily. Farm tours available on request.
5. Check out the local art scene
The gallery will be open every Saturday from 10am to 3pm on Small Street.
Open Studio Gallery, previously Art on the Levee has relocated the exhibition to their gallery in Small Street, Wagga. Do not fear because every Saturday morning you can mingle with the artists, experience the artworks and purchase their painting.
6. Take to the skies
September Aircraft Showcase is on Saturday, September 28 from 10am to 4pm at the Temora Aviation Museum.
The 2019 showcase will feature all serviceable aircraft from the museum's collection, which includes the Supermarine Spitfires and CA-13 Boomerang. At Temora, you can get closer to the action as you witness a themed selection of Australia's ex-military flying history come alive. The Mess Hall serves freshly cooked food and a variety of cold refreshments, or you can bring your picnic to enjoy in the shaded seating or grassed areas.
