Maureen Foley was fresh out of school when she started a job as a dental assistant at what is now known as the Best Street Dental Practice.
Now, more than 40 years on - and multiple roles later - she farewells the workplace that became a second home.
"After the first or second day, I just thought it fantastic," Ms Foley said.
"I just thought it was great that you could be of service to people, help people, and it was great to see the practice grow."
From a dental assistant to a receptionist, to practice manager, Ms Foley said the key to lasting in any industry is to be happy with what you do.
"It is a great place to work, with really terrific people," she said.
"The patients are also fantastic; in fact, there are patients from when I first started who are still coming in today.
"My tips for anyone is that you have to work hard, enjoy what you do and put in 100 per cent."
In more than four decades, Ms Foley has seen the practice change locations, expand and change the way it helps its patients.
"When I started, dentistry was more preventative," she said. "It was about how to educate people. It is still that, but now dentists fix problems.
"I have been able to grow with the practice."
Ms Foley said she knows now is the right time to retire.
"I do not know how I came to that realisation," she said.

"It is time, and it is time to move on and do other things. I am still passionate about dentistry."
Ms Foley plans to relax and play golf with her free time.
Kaylene Flinn, the reception coordinator, had known Ms Foley since 1986 when they completed a course in Sydney together.
"I started working here about 15 years ago, and I recently came back five years ago," she said.
"Maureen is dedicated. She is a spreadsheet queen and very loyal. I am excited for her, and she has worked hard for a long time."
