Turvey Park Fire and Rescue NSW and Wagga Police were called to the scene about 3.40am to find a red Holden Commodore up in flames.
A FRNSW spokesperson said it took roughly between 10 and 15 minutes to subdue the fire, which left the car gutted.
The car's owner Jason, who wished to keep his surname anonymous, said these acts "destroy" people's lives.
"I'm stuck, I'm stranded and I'm destroyed," he said.
"I've been here seven months and we've had fires at the local toilets here about a couple of months ago.
"I don't know what has been going on around here, but it's been really shocking to be honest."
Riverina Police District Inspector Peter McLay said police are still investigating the circumstances.
Jason said there needs to be greater security in the Showgrounds and around Turvey Park to put an end to these events.
"I've copped abuse here at night time ... people saying they'll kill me or stab me," he said.
"It's a joke; I didn't know that country towns could be like this.
"That's why I ended up going back to the coast ... it's disgusting and destroys people's lives."
Only about four people stay in the Showgrounds at one time.
"It's getting out of hand ... I've got panic attacks and I'm stressing - I don't know what to do now," Jason said.
Another camper, about 200 metres from the burnt-out car, said he heard the bang and this was the second fire incident in 12 months.
