LEONARD Cup player of the year Tara Ceccato praised Hanwood's composure after they reversed a 3-1 deficit to prevail over Tolland 6-3 in an extra time grand final thriller on Sunday.

After only losing once - to the Wolves - in their maiden year in the league, Hanwood's attacking arsenal eventually proved too strong.
Ceccato scored the opening goal of the grand final and won the Leonard Cup's golden boot award.
Ceccato said their move to the Wagga competition was the challenge they needed, with the Griffith league reduced to a four-team, nine-a-side format.
"There's a lot more competition and all our teams put in a lot of effort to travel, you have to be committed," she said.
"We've mixed up some younger girls in the team who are willing to learn and put in the work, it's hard to find girls who have that commitment.
"It (grand final) was looking a bit scary there (down 3-1) but we stayed composed."
