Organisers are hopeful that as many people as possible will attend the event and have asked representatives of all schools and churches within the Wagga Catholic Diocese and Riverina region to join.
The prayer vigil will take place this Sunday at St Michael's Cathedral on Church Street, Wagga, beginning at 5.15pm.

Meanwhile, an online forum devoted to having Mr Whelan reinstated to his position as principle has returned to Facebook after disappearing earlier this week.
The 'Support Rod Whelan' Facebook page was set up a day after Mr Whelan's official resignation was announced on August 30.
Overnight on Wednesday, the page disappeared from the social media platform, only to return a day later.
