Two truck drivers were allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs when stopped by police in the western Riverina this week.
Police were conducting heavy vehicle compliance checks on the Sturt Highway near Hay when a B-double travelling East was stopped for an inspection about 9.45pm on Wednesday.
"The driver was submitted to a roadside drug test which returned a positive result," police said in a online statement.
"He was also issued with an infringement notice for a minor risk work hours offence.
"Fifteen minutes following this first vehicle stop another B-double belonging to the same company was also stopped for a compliance inspection and the driver of this vehicle also returned a positive roadside drug test. This roadside test returned a positive indication to cannabis and methamphetamine."
Police said the samples in both matters have been sent for further analysis, pending further court action.
