Griffith and Wagga Tigers will face off in the Riverina League grand final for the first time when the two teams meet at Narrandera Sportsground.

While Griffith enjoyed back-to-back wins over Tigers in the past month, the Wagga team will go into the grand final full of momentum on the back of a 48-point belting of Coolamon in the preliminary final.

Griffith coach Will Griggs revealed the Swans' plan is to up their pressure game even further on Saturday in a bid to stop Tigers' dangerous running game.

"It's no secret that they're pretty quick and young and they like to take the game on," Griggs said.

"You give them the freedom to move the ball like they do from that backline then you're going to be in trouble.

"As all finals are, you've got to really focus on that pressure and make sure the disposals that they do have, that they're under pressure and you're not letting them do what they want to do."

While Tigers are dangerous when allowed to run, Griffith boast two promising young forwards in Jacob and Lucas Conlan.

The pair have combined to kick 18 goals against Tigers in their past two meetings and Tigers coach Troy Maiden believes the key to stopping them lies further up the ground.

"We've got to stop these blokes first and foremost around the ball," Maiden said, referring to Griggs.

"We probably got smacked around the ball a little bit the last couple of games we played them. If the footy is getting delivered into Jacob and Lucas and no pressure on, they're going to be hard to stop so we've got to focus on stopping the footy up the ground."

Maiden believes losing the qualifying final, forcing Tigers to take the long route to the grand final, may have been a blessing in disguise.

"I think the last couple of weeks have actually been good for us to play because we've really built some momentum and got some real confidence back in our game," he said.
